Hi All-
ReplyDeleteThe bylaws portion of the draft looks good but had a couple of concerns about the Mission Section:
Are we addressing archivists concerns about womens collections or *identifying* concerns specific to women's collections/records that inhibit use, acquisition, representation etc?
Not sure if developing a network is accurate as there are likely many parties working toward same/similar goals, what about either formally promoting these efforts through a web site that brings these efforts together or sending one or more of our members to conferences/meetings as a liaison?
Members Section:
I think we should stick to women's records, women's collections, papers that document women, etc rather than history. Women's history is redundant if talking about archival records.
Good work everyone!! Kate
Thanks, Kate! The mission statement is from the WCRT original mission statement in the early 1990s, so we know it needs updating and thought the membership might have some new ideas. These are great comments!
